This non alcoholic grapefruit rosemary spritzer is a refreshing drink to serve on warmer days or even for brunch. The savory hint of rosemary makes this a perfect grownup, elegant drink.
This last week has flown by so quickly I’m still trying to catch my breath. Between sorting out technical blog stuff, planning out menus for next week, cooking and troubleshooting pesky little problems that have a knack of creeping up on the busiest of days, this week has been busy as hell.
With the weekend approaching I’m looking forward to a couple of quiet days at home doing nothing but relaxing. The snow has disappeared and I’m hoping it doesn’t make a comeback now. The days are slightly warmer and I’m even seeing green things popping up in random places. It finally feels like spring is approaching, and not a day sooner!
In anticipation of the warmer weather that will soon be making an appearance I wanted to make a refreshing fruity drink. I don’t drink alcohol so I wanted to make a non alcoholic spritzer but one that could easily accommodate alcohol as well for those who would prefer something stronger.
I picked grapefruit because I love its beautiful pink color and rosemary because citrus and rosemary go really well together. The thing with rosemary is that it adds a wonderfully herby note to whatever it is added when used in small quantities. If you add it in a larger quantity though it tastes really overpowering.
This non alcoholic spritzer is the perfect balance of tart, sweet and savory that makes it suitable for grownups. The color makes it super elegant and perfect for brunch or for serving at outdoor parties. Plus, this is so quick and easy to put together so you don’t really have to work all that hard to whip up this pretty drink.
Just make the syrup, juice your grapefruit and you’re ready to mix it up and serve! Add a bit of vodka, gin or even tequila to spike it up for guests who need a stronger drink.
